New York Cityscape - Oscar F. Bluemner

New York Cityscape
Oscar F. Bluemner (1867-1938)

Oscar F. Bluemner, a very prominent early American Modernist, focused primarily on industrial building structures in his art.

Bluemner’s New York Cityscape was created with charcoal on 4-3/4 by 7-5/8 inch paper. The work is inscribed with the phrase, “Look from speedway or from McComb Dam Park down over Harlem River, East; at 160 St. of the suburban RR.” It was acquired by Christie’s New York on September 23, 1992.
