Preston Dickinson (1891-1930)

Preston Dickinson, an American painter, studied at The Art Students League. He was influenced by cubism as well as the work of Cezanne and the Fauves. In the 1920s, his work took on the style of the Precisionist movement, also known as Cubist Realism. Dickinson was a prolific painter of industrial and architectural subjects with geometrical and abstract qualities.

High Bridge is a 22 by 9-3/4 inch charcoal and ink on rice paper piece featuring Preston Dickinson’s signature. The painting was acquired by Christie’s New York on September 23, 1992.
