Norman Rockwell (1894-1978)
Painter and illustrator Norman Perceval Rockwell is best known for his iconic covers for The Saturday Evening Post magazine. Rockwell was born in New York City and studied at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League. He enjoyed a long and prolific professional career, producing over 4,000 original works and garnering both popular and critical acclaim.
Gramercy Park was produced in 1918 and measures 30-1/8 by 19 inches. The oil on canvas painting was acquired at Christie’s New York in December 1992.
